Agencies embarking on migration to the cloud often encounter challenges associated with successful acquisition. Programs must often connect a puzzle of contract vehicles and tools to meet the compliance and mission requirements. Key takeaways for this tech talk will include streamlining purchasing through Inter-Agency Agreements (IAAs), reducing administrative overhead, and mitigating IT program risks.

Presenters

Ron Williams serves as Deputy Director for cloud.gov. Prior to joining GSA TTS, he was Director of IT for USDA Communications working on USDA.gov, ChooseMyPlate.gov, Farmers.gov, other public facing websites. As an open-source advocate, Ron focuses on deploying disruptive technologies within public sector institutions to improve services provided to the general public.

Jessyka Castillo currently leads Agency Partnerships for cloud.gov. She is responsible for the relationship management of existing and prospective cloud.gov partners. Jessyka is depthly involved in cloud.gov’s business pipeline, agreements tracking, and overall partner experience. In past work, Jessyka has contributed her area of expertise to the public sector, working for HHS on Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move campaign and also serving as the Interim Director for The George Washington University’s Upward Bound Program, federally sponsored by Department of Education.
