The \u003ca href=\"/preview/gsa/digitalgov.gov/cms/news/2024/07/2024-07-02-case-study-increasing-access-to-required-bankruptcy-meetings/communities/\" title=\"Mobile\"\u003eMobileGov Community of Practice\u003c/a\u003e has worked to address these challenges ever since.\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWhile our work is not done, we’ve come a long way and are evolving with the technology.\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eTake the challenge of creating mobile products for multiple user platforms like mobile Web and various device operating systems (iOS, Android, etc.). Back in 2011, agencies were building either static mobile Web pages or native apps; the responsive Web design approach was in its infancy.\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cdiv class=\"image image-right image-right-legacy\"\u003e\n  \u003cimg\n    src=\"https://s3.amazonaws.com/digitalgov/_legacy-img/2014/09/250-x-400-CDC-Prevent-Group-B-Strep-GBS-App-for-Obstetric-and-Neonatal-Providers-Android-menu.jpg\"\n    alt=\"CDC Prevent Group B Strep GBS App for Obstetric and Neonatal Providers Android menu\"/\u003e\u003c/div\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eNow instead of the either/or approach, agencies like the \u003ca href=\"http://www.cdc.gov/\"\u003eCenters for Disease Control (CDC)\u003c/a\u003e are \u003ca href=\"/preview/gsa/digitalgov.gov/cms/news/2024/07/2024-07-02-case-study-increasing-access-to-required-bankruptcy-meetings/2014/06/05/cdcs-digital-front-door-goes-responsive/\"\u003eimplementing\u003c/a\u003e or planning responsive Web design and \u003ca href=\"/preview/gsa/digitalgov.gov/cms/news/2024/07/2024-07-02-case-study-increasing-access-to-required-bankruptcy-meetings/2014/09/18/cdc-app-aids-in-prevention-of-neonatal-disease/\"\u003ebuilding native apps\u003c/a\u003e. However, the platform challenges have become more sophisticated. While responsive Web design has become popular in the federal government, there are still challenges around mobilizing information like tables and charts.\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eTo counter these new challenges, more agencies are focusing on what we called the “data and infrastructure” challenge three years ago. Instead of thinking about the presentation layer (apps and mobile Web), agencies are looking at the mobilization of their information and at ways they can \u003ca href=\"/preview/gsa/digitalgov.gov/cms/news/2024/07/2024-07-02-case-study-increasing-access-to-required-bankruptcy-meetings/2013/05/13/federal-mobile-code-sharing-catalog-is-here/\" title=\"Federal Mobile Code Sharing Catalog Is Here\"\u003eshare mobile code\u003c/a\u003e with other agencies.
