Dr. Michael Johansson has been a biologist in the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Division of Vector-Borne Diseases since 2005. He leads modeling and forecasting activities to improve surveillance, prevention, and control of arboviral diseases including chikungunya, dengue, yellow fever, and Zika. He also serves as a Senior Advisor for Infectious Disease Modeling and Analytics in the Office of the Deputy Director for Infectious Diseases, and has led and supported CDC and interagency modeling and forecasting for the COVID-19 response since January 2020.
