Additionally, mobile traffic is increasing in share against desktop traffic and tablet traffic. Government websites have begun to respond by designing websites to be “\u003ca href=\"https://digital.gov/topics/mobile-first/\"\u003emobile-first\u003c/a\u003e,” and in particular, are moving away from stand-alone apps to designing for the \u003ca href=\"https://digital.gov/topics/responsive-web-design/\"\u003eresponsive web\u003c/a\u003e (websites that automatically adjust, based on the user’s device).\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eBut how do you build better websites for mobile users? The first step is to understand your mobile traffic, and that’s where DAP can help.\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003ch2 id=\"dap-mobile-analytics-capabilities\"\u003eDAP Mobile Analytics Capabilities\u003c/h2\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDAP can help website teams understand friction points and user experience (UX) or navigation issues on mobile sites; \u003ca href=\"https://digital.gov/2015/09/16/speed-matters-optimizing-your-website-for-maximum-performance/\"\u003emobile site speed\u003c/a\u003e; and \u003ca href=\"https://digital.gov/2016/02/05/4-tips-for-analyzing-mobile-traffic-with-dap/\"\u003emobile traffic\u003c/a\u003e sources, such as organic or paid search. The analytics capabilities offered include all of the out-of-the box Google Analytics reports, such as traffic sources, URLs, and Referring Domains; as well as mobile specific reports including device type and category. They included:\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cul\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eWhat traffic sources drive mobile users to our site?\u003c/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eHow does our site perform on different types of devices?\u003c/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eWhere do people browse on the site?\u003c/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eWhat are the most popular site search terms for mobile users?\u003c/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eWhat is the mobile site speed?\u003c/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eWhere do mobile users leave my site?\u003c/li\u003e\n\u003c/ul\u003e\n\u003ch2 id=\"best-practices-for-mobile-reporting\"\u003eBest Practices for Mobile Reporting\u003c/h2\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDAP believes that the best way to think about mobile reporting is through a three-screen view of desktop, smartphone, and tablet traffic.
