Even Apple is loosening up and \u003ca href=\"http://www.theverge.com/2016/6/13/11923112/apple-ios-10-delete-stock-apps\"\u003eletting users uninstall some of their stock apps\u003c/a\u003e that have never been deletable with the new version of iOS 10.\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cdiv class=\"image\"\u003e\n  \u003cimg\n    src=\"https://s3.amazonaws.com/digitalgov/_legacy-img/2016/08/600-x-577-Apple-icons-screen-in-itunes.jpg\"\n    alt=\"iOS apps\"/\u003e\u003c/div\u003e\n\n\n\u003cp\u003eInstalling individual apps isn’t a necessity anymore with the maturation and adoption of responsive web design standards. Plus, messaging apps and messaging bots are beginning to replace individual apps: you can do things like get new headlines, send money, or \u003ca href=\"https://techcrunch.com/2015/12/16/facebook-messenger-transportation/\"\u003ecall an Uber\u003c/a\u003e within a shared service now.\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eResearch and trend reports have shown us for years that  \u003ca href=\"/preview/gsa/digitalgov.gov/bc-archive-content-3/2015/10/27/trends-on-tuesday-users-spend-most-of-their-time-in-social-apps/\"\u003emost people only regularly use a few apps, while they have dozens installed\u003c/a\u003e.\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe app retention climb continues to be a steep hill for many government agencies and is something to strongly consider when \u003ca href=\"/preview/gsa/digitalgov.gov/bc-archive-content-3/2016/05/12/using-pirate-metrics-to-analyze-your-mobile-applications-audience/\"\u003edeciding what metrics you’ll use to evaluate success\u003c/a\u003e before jumping into app development.\u003c/p\u003e\n"}
