It lays out the plays and techniques that we’ve found make for a successful collaboration between us and our partners. We hope that naming our aspirations can help better align expectations about how we’ll work together. Many of the principles below build on specific plays in the \u003ca href=\"https://playbook.cio.gov/\"\u003eU.S. Digital Services Playbook\u003c/a\u003e, which some 18F staffers assisted in authoring.\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe \u003ca href=\"https://pages.18f.gov/partnership-playbook/\"\u003eeight plays in this playbook\u003c/a\u003e are:\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003col\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eWe build in the open.\u003c/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eWe work with an empowered product owner.\u003c/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eWe focus on understanding the problem first.\u003c/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eWe work in an agile way.\u003c/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eWe use user-centered research and design methods.\u003c/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eWe may revisit the project at a high level if there is a major change in project goals.\u003c/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eWe transfer projects back to your team for ongoing support.\u003c/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eWe deploy projects using best practice back-end methods and technology.\u003c/li\u003e\n\u003c/ol\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eUnder each point, you’ll see explanatory information, specifics on what the play means for our shared work, and how to know if you are ready to execute the play.\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAs \u003ca href=\"https://18f.gsa.gov/dashboard\"\u003eour work\u003c/a\u003e goes on, we will continue to iterate this playbook and other guides to memorialize the lessons we learn.
