This follows a similar trend we reported on earlier in the year: \u003ca href=\"/preview/gsa/digitalgov.gov/bc-archive-content-3/2015/03/10/trends-on-tuesday-more-time-consuming-complex-tasks-on-mobile-platforms/\"\u003epeople are growing more comfortable and expect to be able to complete complex tasks on their mobile devices\u003c/a\u003e.\u003c/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eThey must prepare for ‘\u003ca href=\"http://karenmcgrane.com/2012/09/04/adapting-ourselves-to-adaptive-content-video-slides-and-transcript-oh-my/\"\u003eadaptive content\u003c/a\u003e’ that’s more structured and can be reformatted for multiple platforms. This allows digital publishers to \u003ca href=\"http://www.programmableweb.com/news/cope-create-once-publish-everywhere/2009/10/13\"\u003eCreate Once, Publish Everywhere (COPE)\u003c/a\u003e, a strategy coined by NPR’s digital team.\u003c/li\u003e\n\u003c/ol\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eOn the other side of the Atlantic Ocean, the \u003ca href=\"http://gsa.github.io/Open-And-Structured-Content-Models/faqs.html\"\u003eOpen and Structured Content Models Working Group and DigitalGov\u003c/a\u003e are putting forward model standards for two of the most popular types of content on government websites—\u003ca href=\"http://gsa.github.io/Open-And-Structured-Content-Models/models/article-model.html\"\u003earticles\u003c/a\u003e and \u003ca href=\"http://gsa.github.io/Open-And-Structured-Content-Models/models/event-model.html\"\u003eevents\u003c/a\u003e—to better manage, share and publish digital content across government digital properties.\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThese proposed content models help define \u003ca href=\"http://gsa.github.io/Open-And-Structured-Content-Models/models/article-model.html\"\u003eall sorts of meta data and information around content\u003c/a\u003e that’s created on government sites—from related multimedia to source organization to short and long descriptions of the content.
