You can watch a complete \u003ca href=\"http://www.webable.tv/Events/M_Enabling_Summit_2015/TabId/1199/VideoId/1576/Policies--Standards-Standards--Guidelines-For-Accessible-Mobile-Devices.aspx\"\u003epanel about mobile accessibility guidelines\u003c/a\u003e, but here are some of the most useful guidelines they mention for making mobile implementations accessible.\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cul\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eThe Web Accessibility Initiative is the leader in this area, and it has a \u003ca href=\"http://www.w3.org/TR/mobile-accessibility-mapping/\"\u003eresource page\u003c/a\u003e with guidelines and tools for making mobile websites and native apps accessible. In addition, the organization just released a working draft of \u003ca href=\"http://www.w3.org/TR/mobile-accessibility-mapping/\"\u003eHow Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0) and Other W3C/WAI Guidelines Apply to Mobile\u003c/a\u003e in February and is soliciting feedback from the public.\u003c/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eThe \u003ca href=\"http://www.access-board.gov/\"\u003eU.S. Access Board\u003c/a\u003e just finished the public comment period for a proposed \u003ca href=\"http://www.access-board.gov/guidelines-and-standards/communications-and-it/about-the-ict-refresh/proposed-rule/ii-executive-summary\"\u003eSection 508 Rules refresh\u003c/a\u003e that includes guidance for smartphones and other new devices.\u003c/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eThe British Broadcasting Corporation’s \u003ca href=\"http://www.bbc.co.uk/guidelines/futuremedia/accessibility/mobile/about\"\u003eStandards and Guidelines for Mobile Accessibility\u003c/a\u003e are a set of technology agnostic best practices for mobile Web content, hybrid and native apps. They are intended for use by anyone involved with the design, development or testing of mobile products.\u003c/li\u003e\n\u003c/ul\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eOther conference programming also touched on the reality that future mobile device capabilities will bring exciting innovations for accessibility.
