Rather, this is a story about how one federal agency is partnering with another to amplify its content and reach millions of people online—and why more agencies should do the same.\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eMany federal agencies create valuable digital content, but distributing that content at scale can be a challenge. \u003ca href=\"http://www.usa.gov/\"\u003eUSAGov\u003c/a\u003e, and its sister site in Spanish, \u003ca href=\"https://www.usa.gov/espanol/\"\u003eUSAGov en Español\u003c/a\u003e (\u003cem\u003eformerly known as GobiernoUSA.gov\u003c/em\u003e), not only create content, but they also help other agencies amplify their content online. Both are part of GSA.\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFor the last two years, the \u003ca href=\"http://www.consumerfinance.gov/\"\u003eConsumer Financial Protection Bureau\u003c/a\u003e (CFPB) has worked with USAGov and USAGov en Español to get its content in front of millions of consumers. It has done so by leveraging a well-honed bilingual digital platform that consists of websites, blogs, email lists, social media channels and a content marketing strategy that places content on third-party websites.\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe CFPB’s \u003ca href=\"http://blog.usa.gov/post/105357480782/updated-reverse-mortgage-guide-two-things-you\"\u003ereverse mortgages post\u003c/a\u003e, which was also \u003ca href=\"http://blog.gobiernousa.gov/post/105357362384/guia-actualizada-de-hipotecas-inversas-dos-cosas\"\u003epublished in Spanish\u003c/a\u003e, is an example of that collaboration.\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003ch2 id=\"results-from-a-single-post\"\u003eResults from a Single Post\u003c/h2\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eCFPB has collaborated with USAGov/USAGov en Español to amplify much of its content. Of particular note, the reverse mortgages post delivered high levels of reach and engagement on behalf of both agencies, informing consumers about a complex topic in a simple way. These are some of the results:\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cul\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eMore than 180 websites republished the article in both languages with a reach of more than 8 million people.\u003c/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eIt was shared with an audience of close to 200,000 via social media and was widely liked, commented on and re-shared.\u003c/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eMore than 20,000 people read the post via the platform’s email distribution lists (\u003ca href=\"https://public.govdelivery.com/accounts/USAGOV/subscriber/new\"\u003eUSA.gov\u003c/a\u003e and \u003ca href=\"https://public.govdelivery.com/accounts/GOBIERNOUSA/subscriber/new\"\u003eUSAGov en Español\u003c/a\u003e).\u003c/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eIt generated more than 3,000 combined page views on the \u003ca href=\"http://blog.usa.gov/\"\u003eUSAGov blog\u003c/a\u003e and \u003ca href=\"http://blog.gobiernousa.gov/\"\u003eUSAGov en Español blog\u003c/a\u003e.\u003c/li\u003e\n\u003c/ul\u003e\n\u003ch2 id=\"how-the-collaboration-works\"\u003eHow the Collaboration Works\u003c/h2\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFor content creation and amplification, the collaboration looks something like this:\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003col\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eCFPB creates content that supports its mission to help consumers make wise financial decisions, like the reverse mortgages post, and then works with the bilingual staff of USAGov/USAGov en Español to develop a distribution strategy.\u003c/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eContent then gets pushed out via the USAGov/USAGov en Español platform that includes:\n\u003cul\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eSocial media channels with close to 1 million followers\u003c/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eA email distribution list with 1 million plus subscribers\u003c/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eA syndication platform that places content across some of the most trafficked news and information websites in English and Spanish\u003c/li\u003e\n\u003c/ul\u003e\n\u003c/li\u003e\n\u003c/ol\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eCassandra McConnell-Tatum, Deputy Assistant Director of the Office of Financial Education at CFPB, says that she sees the collaboration as a complement to their own digital platforms, and a great opportunity to leverage resources.\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e“They already have an infrastructure in place, so it makes sense for us to reach out to them and expand our reach to other consumers,” she said.\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003ch2 id=\"agencies-are-invited-to-collaborate\"\u003eAgencies Are Invited to Collaborate\u003c/h2\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eRyan Edelstein, Director of the Content and Outreach Division for USAGov and USAGov en Español, says that collaboration with other agencies can take many forms and invites others to take advantage of the USAGov and USAGov en Español platform to get valuable information to people.\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u0026ldquo;We built this platform to help agencies amplify their messaging and extend their reach,\u0026rdquo; he said. \u0026ldquo;At the end of the day, the public wins when they can easily find the information they need.\u0026rdquo;\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFor more information about working with USAGov and USAGov en Español, \u003ca href=\"mailto:usapartnerships@gsa.gov\"\u003eemail their marketing team\u003c/a\u003e.\u003c/p\u003e\n"}
