Besides mPing, they have three other native applications that are crowdsourcing data from the public:\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cul\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eNOAA’s Office of National Marine Sanctuaries Dolphin \u0026amp; Whale 911 App allows users on both U.S. coasts to \u003ca href=\"/preview/gsa/digitalgov.gov/bc-archive-content-3/2014/09/25/saving-the-whales-with-just-your-smartphone-west-coast-edition/\"\u003esubmit reports of whale sightings in real-time\u003c/a\u003e that could ultimately alert boaters and vessel captains to slow down and avoid colliding with these majestic creatures.\u003c/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eNOAA Fisheries \u003ca href=\"/preview/gsa/digitalgov.gov/bc-archive-content-3/2013/11/14/noaa-release-mako-now-on-ios/\"\u003eRelease Mako App\u003c/a\u003e allows fishermen to post GPS tagged photos on the \u003ca href=\"http://www.nmfs.noaa.gov/sfa/hms/shortfinmako/Map/index.htm\"\u003eShortfin Mako Shark Live Release Interactive Web Map\u003c/a\u003e.\u003c/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eNOAA’s National GeoPhysical Data Center released the \u003ca href=\"http://www.ngdc.noaa.gov/geomag/crowdmag.shtml\"\u003eCrowdMag\u003c/a\u003e App in which users can enable background recording with their phone’s digital magnetometer so NOAA can anonymously collect magnetic field data to help keep track of Earth’s ever-changing magnetic fields.\u003c/li\u003e\n\u003c/ul\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cdiv class=\"image image-right image-right-legacy\"\u003e\n  \u003cimg\n    src=\"https://s3.amazonaws.com/digitalgov/_legacy-img/2014/12/250-x-445-DOE-Energy-LanternLive-app-DC-Gas-Stations-on-Android-.jpg\"\n    alt=\"Department of Energy\u0026#39;s LanternLive app displays DC Gas Stations on an Android phone\"/\u003e\u003c/div\u003e\nFour other agencies are leveraging mobile for crowdsourcing across a number of efforts like ranking photos and helping with disaster response.\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cul\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eThe Department of Energy’s \u003ca href=\"/preview/gsa/digitalgov.gov/bc-archive-content-3/2014/12/04/find-fuel-during-disasters-with-lantern-live-app/\"\u003eLantern Live\u003c/a\u003e crowdsources the ability to find fuel during an emergency through user-generated status reports from local gas stations.\u003c/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eThe Federal Emergency Management Administration’s \u003ca href=\"/preview/gsa/digitalgov.gov/bc-archive-content-3/2014/01/16/fema-app-adds-disaster-reporter-feature/\"\u003eFEMA App\u003c/a\u003e, has a Disaster Reporter feature that allows citizens, first responders, emergency managers, community response \u0026amp; recovery teams, and others to view and contribute information on a publicly accessible map as a way to assist recovery and relief operations.\u003c/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eThe Transportation Security Administration’s \u003ca href=\"/preview/gsa/digitalgov.gov/bc-archive-content-3/2012/02/22/my-tsa-mobile-app/\"\u003eMY TSA\u003c/a\u003e app gives passengers the ability to post their checkpoint wait time and see the passenger-posted wait times at other U.S. airports. This real-time information can help passengers plan to arrive at the airport on time.\u003c/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eThe National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s (NASA) Hubblesite App, is the anytime, anywhere home of NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope that allows \u003ca href=\"https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/hubblesite/id416759844?mt=8\u0026amp;ls=1\"\u003eusers to rank photos\u003c/a\u003e taken by the telescope.\u003c/li\u003e\n\u003c/ul\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDo you know of other apps from the government that crowdsource information from the public?
