More frequently they start searching for information on Google or on agency websites, where it is more difficult to discover pertinent rules and regulations. Search results on regulatory agency websites, by default, don’t include Federal Register documents since they’re published elsewhere.\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThat’s why \u003ca href=\"http://search.digitalgov.gov/\"\u003eDigitalGov Search\u003c/a\u003e recently rolled out a new feature to display relevant Federal Register rules and regulations as instant answers within the search results on agency websites.\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003ch2 id=\"filling-the-information-gap\"\u003eFilling the Information Gap\u003c/h2\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDigitalGov Search seeks to provide immediate answers to the public’s search questions. In addition to the Federal Register documents, we’ve incorporated results to provide instant answers from other specialized government websites, such as \u003ca href=\"http://search.digitalgov.gov/manual/govbox-jobs.html\"\u003eUSAJobs\u003c/a\u003e, included \u003ca href=\"http://search.digitalgov.gov/manual/govbox-health.html\"\u003eMedlinePlus health information\u003c/a\u003e, and agencies’ \u003ca href=\"http://search.digitalgov.gov/manual/flickr.html\"\u003eFlickr\u003c/a\u003e, \u003ca href=\"http://search.digitalgov.gov/manual/instagram.html\"\u003eInstagram\u003c/a\u003e, \u003ca href=\"http://search.digitalgov.gov/manual/twitter.html\"\u003eTwitter\u003c/a\u003e, and \u003ca href=\"http://search.digitalgov.gov/manual/youtube.html\"\u003eYouTube\u003c/a\u003e accounts.\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eRegulatory agencies that use our service—such as the \u003ca href=\"http://www.sec.gov/\"\u003eSecurities and Exchange Commission\u003c/a\u003e and \u003ca href=\"https://www.osha.gov/\"\u003eOccupational Safety \u0026amp; Health Administration\u003c/a\u003e—benefit by more easily sharing newly published notices, rules, and regulations with the public.\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cblockquote\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eI love the new \u003cem\u003eFederal Register\u003c/em\u003e feature box that shows me additional results from my search query from the \u003cem\u003eFederal Register\u003c/em\u003e. It’s like having two searches in one! The “More documents on FederalRegister.gov” link also passes my query directly to the \u003cem\u003eFederal Register\u003c/em\u003e API so I can move seamlessly to the FR site to continue my research.
