Visit the \u003ca href=\"http://www.ed.gov/developers\"\u003edevelopers’ page at ED.gov\u003c/a\u003e to find 36 educational datasets for educational levels. The datasets can be accessed in CSV, JSON, XML, and API formats. What is especially helpful is a PDF document that explains the data and the methodology behind the data collection. This is useful information for app developers when they combine datasets.\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe Department of Education supports app developers through the \u003ca href=\"http://www.ed.gov/edblogs/technology/education-data-initiative/\"\u003eEducation Data Initiative\u003c/a\u003e. The Department of Education held the first \u003ca href=\"http://www.ed.gov/edblogs/technology/datapalooza/\"\u003eEducational Datapooloza in 2012\u003c/a\u003e, which produced such educational technology innovations as the \u003ca href=\"http://www.ed.gov/edblogs/technology/mydata/\"\u003eMyData Initiative\u003c/a\u003e. In January 2014, the second Educational Datapooloza was held. An app developer can search the:\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003col\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\u003ca href=\"http://datainventory.ed.gov/\"\u003eED Data Inventory\u003c/a\u003e\u003c/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\u003ca href=\"https://studentaid.ed.gov/data-center\"\u003eFederal Student Aid Data Center\u003c/a\u003e\u003c/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\u003ca href=\"http://nces.ed.gov/datalab/\"\u003eNational Center for Educational Statistics’ Data Lab\u003c/a\u003e\u003c/li\u003e\n\u003c/ol\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThese sites provide a wealth of information that can be used to create apps to help students, parents, and the public make good educational decisions and investments.
