As we found in our \u003ca href=\"/preview/gsa/digitalgov.gov/bc-archive-content-3/2014/03/24/why-go-responsive-heres-what-feds-are-saying/\"\u003eFebruary workshop\u003c/a\u003e, federal agencies are implementing it for various reasons.\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThere are various ways to implement responsive design. Some agencies have implemented it via \u003ca href=\"/preview/gsa/digitalgov.gov/bc-archive-content-3/2014/05/27/video-blog-part-3-sarah-crane-usa-gov/\"\u003estructured data and content modeling\u003c/a\u003e and others have \u003ca href=\"/preview/gsa/digitalgov.gov/bc-archive-content-3/2014/05/15/defense-finance-and-accounting-service-goes-responsive/\"\u003ecompletely redesigned their website\u003c/a\u003e. Agencies who are not yet at that point are looking for ways they can begin.\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn our February workshop, we learned members of the \u003ca href=\"/preview/gsa/digitalgov.gov/bc-archive-content-3/communities/\"\u003eMobileGov Community of Practice\u003c/a\u003e are using built-in responsive templates in open source content management systems (CMS) in order to better manage existing content and make it user-friendly across a variety of mobile devices.\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSign up for our \u003ca href=\"\n\"\u003eMobile Web Templates: How to Use Open Source CMS to Implement Responsive Web Design\u003c/a\u003e webinar on Wednesday July 30th, to see and hear representatives from the Department of State and the General Services Administration (GSA) demonstrate how they leveraged existing templates in Open Source CMS for content on mobile devices. Specifically, they’ll disclose tips on implementing RWD with CMS systems like Drupal and WordPress and share how they troubleshooted challenges they faced.\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIf you are on the outside of mobile Web looking in at your agency, this is a great way to learn how to get started.
