At DisasterAssistance.gov you can:\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cul\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eAccess\u003c/strong\u003e FEMA’s Disaster Survivor Application Checklist;\u003c/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eFind\u003c/strong\u003e disaster assistance that meets your personal needs, including more than 70 forms of assistance from 17 federal agencies;\u003c/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eApply\u003c/strong\u003e for disaster assistance; and\u003c/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eCheck\u003c/strong\u003e the status of your application for assistance, straight from your screen.\u003c/li\u003e\n\u003c/ul\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt’s also a good time to remind you about a perfect companion to this site: the \u003ca href=\"http://www.fema.gov/disaster-reporter\"\u003eDisaster Reporter feature of FEMA’s app\u003c/a\u003e, which \u003ca href=\"/preview/gsa/digitalgov.gov/bc-archive-content-3/2014/01/16/fema-app-adds-disaster-reporter-feature/\"\u003ewe blogged about\u003c/a\u003e in January. The app feature, now available for both Android and iOS, enables anyone to submit geographically tagged and captioned photos taken during and after a disaster. FEMA will then plot approved images on an interactive map. Disaster Reporter is part of the agency’s effort to use \u003cstrong\u003ecitizen intelligence\u003c/strong\u003e to better understand and respond to all kinds of disasters and extreme events.\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDon’t wait until mayhem finds its way to your doorstep to become acquainted with these and other tools.
