According to \u003cem\u003eInformationWeek\u003c/em\u003e, \u003ca href=\"http://www.informationweek.com/mobile/47--of-doctors-use-smartphone-tablet-and-pc/d/d-id/1111170\"\u003e86% of physicians and “mid-level” clinicians now use smartphones in their professional activities\u003c/a\u003e, up from 78% in 2012.\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eEnter the \u003ca href=\"http://www.cms.gov/Regulations-and-Guidance/Legislation/National-Physician-Payment-Transparency-Program/index.html\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eOpen Payments Program\u003c/strong\u003e\u003c/a\u003e, launched in 2013 by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), that offers two companion mobile apps. This “national disclosure program,” created under an ACA provision, shines a light on the payments reporting process and the business relationships among physicians, teaching hospitals and industry manufacturers, such as medical device-makers.
