In this talk, we’ll go over the central principles of digital accessibility and how these principles remove access barriers and improve user experience for everyone. We’ll cover key ways you can create content that is usable and understandable. Lastly, we’ll touch on the accessibility considerations needed when creating and working with multilingual platforms and content.

Presenters

Willa Armstrong is a digital accessibility specialist at the Library of Congress. Trained as a librarian, she is dedicated to removing barriers and ensuring equal access to information for all. Previously, she worked in digital accessibility for the public library system in New York City.

Wendy A F G Stengel is section chief for Accessibility and Usability at the Library of Congress. She’s passionate about finding better ways to connect people with the content they need and want, and easier ways for people to get their tasks accomplished. Wendy lives and works in Washington, DC.
